T-Street (short for Trafalgar Street) sits just south of the San Clemente Pier and is a local favorite for hanging out and surfing. Access is easy via the pedestrian overpass at Esplanade, dropping you onto wide sand with restrooms, seasonal concessions, picnic tables and nearby fire rings; metered bluff parking and street parking serve the area, and the Beach Trail runs right behind it.
For waves, T-Street is shaped by a mix of sandbars and rocky reef that create reliable peaks; it’s best with S–SW swells and light NE/offshore winds. Regulars talk about three main takeoff zones—Reef, Cropley’s and Beach House—which light up in different conditions (Cropley’s on select NWs). Crowds and a bit of cobble/reef underfoot are the usual trade-offs.
Practical notes: lifeguards staff towers seasonally; dogs aren’t allowed on the beach; and if you prefer fewer stairs, park nearer the pier and stroll the trail to the overpass.
